Is Your Relationship Healthy?

Allah subhana wa ta`Ala has informed us that

“And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put Love and mercy between your (hearts), verily in that are signs for those who reflect.” (Quran 30:21) (Yusuf Ali)

No matter how familiar we may be with the notion of marriage as a beautiful aspect of our lives, the reality is often just plain hard. Many times, lectures we hear about Marriage in Islam focus on the rights and responsibilities of the wife and the husband. In order for our marriages to work, in order for us to truly be garments for one another — we have got to have a healthy relationship with our spouse.

The first step is to understand clearly the signs of a healthy relationship , and those of an unhealthy relationship. Then we’ve got to get to work improving our relationships – for the sake of Allah — because certainly we will be held to account for how we treated those closest to us. There are many things you can do to improve your relationship, and we have gathered resources for you.
